A Year of Conversations. Reflections from TRS Resourcing in 2025
We’d like to share some of our collective thoughts and conversations from the year, as well as the things this year reminded us of. We’d like to share some of our collective thoughts and conversations from the year, as well as the things this year reminded us of. One of them is that recruitment isn’t just about jobs, it’s about conversations.
Real ones. Unexpected ones. The quick check ins. The long talks. The “Hey, can I run something by you?” moments. The calls where someone needs advice, reassurance, clarity… or just someone who needs our help. Across all of our sectors, this year was built on thousands of these conversations. And each one mattered.
Our conversations with candidates
Some conversations were hopeful, some were tough, some were life changing. We heard stories of resilience, long commutes, early starts, night shifts, tough weeks, and proud wins and what stood out most was how honest people were willing to be when they felt supported. And that’s something we don’t take lightly.
Our conversations with employers
Employers shared their challenges too, openly and honestly. Some needed urgent staff and some were trying to rebuild teams. And many were simply trying to keep up with demand, change, or uncertainty. We spoke about the pressure to find good people, the frustration of skills shortages, the importance of culture, and the weight of making the right hire. It was a year where employers didn’t just want resumes they were after clarity, and someone who understood the realities of their industry. And we were grateful to be in those conversations.
Our conversations within our team
Behind the scenes, TRS had its own conversations, the early morning planning sessions, the one on ones and the late night follow ups, the “Are you okay?” check ins, the laughs, the shared wins, and of course the shared stress. We celebrated milestones. We supported each other through tougher days. We pushed ourselves to grow, personally and professionally. Each team member brought their own strengths and stories to the year, and collectively, those internal conversations shaped the way we showed up for each other, our clients and candidates
What these conversations taught us
This year taught us a few things:
- People want honesty more than perfection.
- A five minute conversation can change someone’s direction.
- Listening is still the most underrated skill not just in recruitment but in any relationship.
- Trust is built slowly, over time, through simple consistency.
- The right conversation at the right time matters more than ever.
Perhaps the biggest lesson is that recruitment remains deeply human. No AI tool, no automation, no new trend replaces a genuine exchange between people.
Looking toward 2026
We’re not making predictions. We’re not listing trends. We’re not trying to wrap the year in a bow. Instead, we’re heading into 2026 with the same approach that guided us through this year: Keep the conversations real. Keep the care genuine. Keep showing up for people. Whatever the new year brings, growth, change, challenges, or opportunity, we’ll keep doing what we do best: talking to people, supporting them, and helping them navigate whatever comes next. At TRS we stand by what we supply.
A simple thank you from TRS to you
To everyone who picked up the phone, took a meeting, trusted us with their story, shared a challenge, or asked for advice, thank you. Your conversations shaped our year. And we’re grateful for every single one.
From all of us at TRS Resourcing, we wish you a safe, restful, and meaningful end to the year.
See you in 2026 and we look forward to the next conversation.
