The Company

Our client is a specialist in the Victorian structural steel sector. They are based in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. They have asked TRS Resourcing to find a suitably qualified Estimator with a background in Industrial & or Commercial Heavy Fabrication Steel.

The Role

We require candidates who can estimate different projects, accurately prepare estimates quickly, and work with the scheduling team once works have been won. The successful candidate will need to have great people skills as they deal directly every day with architects, subcontractors and the end clients.

Ideally, our client would like to speak to candidates that hold a degree/qualification. However, they are happy to consider all candidates with estimating experience in the commercial structural steel sector and good working knowledge of the industry.

However, the salary offered will be based on your experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
The duties of this position will include:
  • Accurately compile cost and quantities
  • Managing the Estimating Email Inbox
  • Use Microsoft Office
  • Report to management on price fluctuation and margins
  • Interpret drawings and plans
  • Submission of tenders’ measurements
  • Liaise with construction management concerning site works, sub-contractors and tenders
  • Being accountable for the take of quantities, arranging quotations and negotiating with suppliers and trades
