Import Operations Trainee

This position is within a World Transport company; knowledge or interest in the World Transport sector is desirable. This role would suit school or university leavers looking to join the freight industry.

You'll be based out of the Tullamarine office with a friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of import forwarding, from registration to invoicing the client.

The salary for the successful candidate will be between $50,000 - $55,000 + Super. The hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Import Operations – 
  • Job registration
  • Following up with the shipping Lines / LCL companies.
  • Arranging payment to the shipping lines / LCL companies.
  • Booking the transport. 
  • Keeping the customer informed of the delivery dates / times. 
  • Following up and making sure payment is received from the COD customers prior to delivering the cargo.
  • Following up with the overseas agents for shipping documents / express release BLs
  • Pick and pack some orders.
  • Booking transport and attaching the con notes for some of the orders.   
To be considered for this position, you must be able to provide the following:
  • Reference contact details of two past employers
  • Based already in Melbourne, Victoria
  • Have the right to work in Australia 
  • Wholesale forwarding knowledge is an advantage but not essential.
