After all, who needs a recruitment agency when all of Australia experienced at least one lockdown?<\/p>\n<p>What is remarkable is that both businesses managed to evolve excessively and successfully over 12 months. With neither still in \u2018survival mode\u2019 as countless of other businesses had been from 2020 and even into the present.<br \/>\nTavis shared that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trsresourcing.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TRS Resourcing<\/a> as a firm has grown almost 200% within the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>Dramatic business growth was too, experienced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iibs.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Interlink Insurance Brokers<\/a> said Tryan.<br \/>\n\u200b<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #2c679c;\">What did TRS Resourcing do when COVID first hit? <\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-16325 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-01.cms-ap-v2i.applyflow.com\/trs-resourcing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/6fc63779-ff82-4455-9c5a-fa52865d74ab.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"172\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn-01.cms-ap-v2i.applyflow.com\/trs-resourcing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/6fc63779-ff82-4455-9c5a-fa52865d74ab.jpeg 172w, https:\/\/cdn-01.cms-ap-v2i.applyflow.com\/trs-resourcing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/6fc63779-ff82-4455-9c5a-fa52865d74ab-150x150.jpeg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 172px) 100vw, 172px\" \/><\/p>\n<figure class=\"image-float-left\"><\/figure>\n<p>Tavis and his TRS Resourcing team could have panicked (and best believe there were some uneasy moments), but instead it was decided to be first and foremost, proactive.<\/p>\n<p>So, what did they do? TRS Resourcing cut expenditure and doubled down on marketing efforts. Tavis is a firm believer that you\u2019re only as scalable as the internal systems you have in place for your business. If you don\u2019t have your data points in check, nor do you understand your clients, your business is a disaster waiting to ensue. Every tiny moving part of business needs efficient planning. Tryan took leadership at the first sight of troubled waters, pulling everybody into a Zoom call. It\u2019s here everyone had a chance to voice their concerns and brainstorm what was going to be done to stay viable, let alone a successful business.<\/p>\n<p>Interlink, a company of Perth insurance brokers had previously relied on legacy systems (aka old and outdated computer systems). It was time for an overhaul, needing everyone to step up and be on board for the process, too.<br \/>\nThis Zoom call at the height of COVID motivated the Interlink Insurance team, which saw June 2020 stabilise, and profits continue. Staff were understandably terrified about the reliability and security of their jobs, but management made sure no one was getting stood down.<\/p>\n<p><b>From July 2020, business has actually boomed, at which point Tryan acknowledged he had to take the foot off the pedal \u2013 and say, \u201clet\u2019s focus on service and tech now.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<h3>\n<span style=\"color: #2c679c;\">Our two businesses are more alike than you would think <\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Tavis suggests Interlink Insurance Brokers and TRS Resourcing are in the same business, regardless of what both businesses sell and provide.<br \/>\n<b>How is this so? <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Both are customer service focused<\/li>\n<li>Both provide valuable solutions<\/li>\n<li>Both are in the \u2018people business.\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Invest in software and technology<\/li>\n<li>Have a social media managers and copywriter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Along with this, both businesses listen &#8211; Listening is a valuable skill, so too is asking questions. Both businesses ask the all-important \u2018why?\u2019 Why have you approached us? It\u2019s always about how they can make it easier for their client.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #2c679c;\">Are there any challenges? <\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Tavis articulated the near-constant thought of \u201cwhat goes up must come down, eventually anyway.\u201d<br \/>\nYet, if there\u2019s anything he has learnt in his years of business struggles to strengths it\u2019s when you devise, implement and back innovative strategies (for TRS Resourcing, it\u2019s technology and communicating culture and values through socials), you gain the tools to maintain your success.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #2c679c;\">What is Interlink implementing? <\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Interlink Insurance Brokers let us in on what they\u2019re implementing to not only remain viable in times of uncertainty but thriving. It has a lot to do with changing up their marketing and sales strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Tryan said: <i>\u201cthankfully, just before COVID!\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n<p>He suggests that organic growth is good and makes up a definite percentage, but his business also needs to get out there in the market, picking up more business every year.<\/p>\n<p><b>Here\u2019s a fun fact: Interlink are (almost) paperless, as well. Going by Tryan\u2019s paperless desk and office, anyway! <\/b><\/p>\n<h3>\u200b<\/h3>\n<h3>\u200b<span style=\"color: #2c679c;\">Who is the perfect client? <\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Both Tavis and Tryan have a 3-step process for defining the clients they take on:<br \/>\n<b>What\u2019s important for taking on a client is answering the below: <\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Can they add value?<\/li>\n<li>Can they make money?<\/li>\n<li>Do they want to serve the client?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Those three things are most important to onboard a client.<\/p>\n<h3>\n<span style=\"color: #2c679c;\">How are TRS Resourcing different? <\/span><\/h3>\n<p>\u200bYou can get transactional recruitment from any recruitment company, but the TRS Resourcing difference is the focus on customer service in how employees meet client and candidate needs.
